The Ivy House Country Hotel is a "hidden gem" nestled on the banks of Oulton Broad amongst 21 acres of gardens, lawns, ponds, marshes, and thatched barns all with direct access onto the Broads. Guests can enjoy relaxing walks in beautiful grounds or venture out onto the broads pathways, or further still to the nearby coast.
The promenade and golden beaches to the south of Lowestoft are just 5 minutes from the hotel, together with coastal walks, local attractions such as Africa Alive, Pleasure Wood Hills, and beautiful villages such as Southwold are within 15 minutes by car.
The hotel was purchased in July 2013 by Dr Adrian Parton MBE a successful businessman who has teamed up with his cousin Keith Parton, who has extensive experience in the hospitality business working with people like Marco Pierre White, to create a family run business that focuses on customer needs. An extensive refurbishment programme was completed in early 2014 with the addition of Eve’s Bar & Lounge and the ‘state of of the art’ Ivy Hall function suite that can seat 250 people.
The Crooked barn restaurant
The Crooked Barn Restaurant was opened in 1996 and its uniquely “crooked 16th Century beams” provide a wonderful ambience to enjoy the food of head Chef Martin Whitelock. 12 consecutive years of obtaining two AA Rosettes is testament to the quality of the food.
